Today at a workshop here in Paris on Africa’s economic integration a participant referred to this work saying that one might simply switch names - substituting Africa for South America - and the same arguments would apply. An interesting sequence would be to map out potential cross-border clusters or noodles from where a “quasi-common economy approach” could be followed. So much for attempting to copycat the unique European model of integration...
